Why Winter is a Great Time to Sell Your Home
When you think of the ideal time to sell your home, the winter months probably don’t come to mind. But, here are four reasons why NOW may actually be the perfect time to sell your home:
- More Serious Buyers – No looky loos this time of year! If people are willing to trek out in the cold and snow for showings, then chances are, they are serious about buying a home. So, while you may have fewer showings in the winter, the buyers are typically more qualified, have shorter timelines, and are motivated to buy NOW.
- Less Competition – In the winter months, there are fewer homes for sale, which means increased demand for those that are available. As we get closer to the peak selling season (late spring through the summer) and inventory increases, buyers will have more homes to consider. So, why not put your home on the market when supply is low and demand is still high?
- Show Off Cold Weather Features – Selling in the winter months gives you the opportunity to show off all of the cold-weather features that keep your home warm and comfortable. When showing, don’t be afraid to show off your working fireplace, furnace, updated windows, or anything else that keeps the cold out and your home nice and cozy!
- First Quarter Relocations – Large companies tend to relocate employees at the first of the year, which means an influx of buyers searching for homes. More and more companies are making Denver home, which means the potential for people ready to buy now is up!
The holidays have passed and buyers are once again out looking, so it’s a great time to consider listing your home for sale. Have questions or want to discuss your particular case? Get in touch with the MODE Real Estate team – we’re here to help!

Another bonus for moving during the winter months is that moving companies tend to charge less for their services and are more flexible on service dates due to it being a slow season for them.
That’s a great tip – thanks so much for sharing, Mark!
